“Spoonsperry” workshops

Deb Perry working with school children during a spoon playing workshop.

Deb runs talks and workshops teaching spoon playing for adults and children, including corporate and school groups. All sessions are flexible and tailored to suit the age and ability of the participants.

Workshops include:

  • Spoon history.
  • Kinds of spoons that can be played and how, including spoons from around the world.
  • How I learnt to play and developed my playing style and who I have played with including the W.A. Symphony Orchestra and being a finalist on Australia's Got Talent.
  • Demonstrations playing to different types of music from classical to rock.
  • Teaching the participants how to play spoons and forming a "Spoon Band" playing to relevant tunes with their newly learnt skill.
